Job Description


We are looking for candidates passionate about craftsmanship, teamwork, and delivering user capability to join SAIC supporting the Air Force weather community on the Technology Application Development & Sustainment (TADS) contract. 

The successful candidate will work within a cross-functional team to provide hands-on experience designing, installing, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining enterprise systems.  You will lead and participate in the deployment, management, and optimization of systems, software, and processes in support of the High Performance Computing (HPC) environment.

•    Bachelor's and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience; or 13 years of experience in leiu of degree.
•    5 years of experience working in a system administration or similar role
•    Advanced Linux knowledge
•    Configures, installs, maintains, and upgrades HPC clusters (compute, storage, and network) and applications in support of research computing environments
•    Experience with infrastructure automation approaches and tools such as Ansible and Terraform
•    Familiarity with enterprise storage solutions
•    Experience working with container-based approaches
•    Experience with monitoring tools
•    Knowledge of GPFS filesystems
•    Experience with Mellanox Infiniband Fabric and UFM
•    Familiarity with virtual desktop infrastructure
•    Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Kanban, Lean, Theory of Constraints)
•    Must have a collaborative mentality with an ability to work effectively in a team environment
•    Ability to advise technicians, engineering designers, or other technical support personnel as needed and recommended enterprise-level system changes
•    Evaluate factors such as reporting formats, cost constraints, and need for security restrictions to determine appropriate hardware and/or software configuration
•    Experience ensuring DISA Secure Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) are understood and solutions are automated
•    Troubleshoot outages or other system errors and implement/recommended fix actions, as necessary
•    Ability to provide operational support for 24x7 systems on a rotating basis
•    Must be a US Citizen
•    Must be able to obtain a secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
•    CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
•    Operating System Certificates validating depth of knowledge
•    Active Secret Clearance
•    Familiarity with cloud computing such as AWS
•    Familiarity with 557th Weather Wing
