Job Description


SAIC is seeking an exceptional individual to support the Air Force's next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system acquisition. Our customer is the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Program Office located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. This engineer will work with the Reentry System & Reentry Vehicle team to evaluate proposed reentry system designs and models in support of the USAF customer. Responsibilities will include:

  • System performance and design assessments of major subsystems including but not limited to phased array antennas, transmitters and receivers, radar signal processors and computer algorithms/logic
  • Perform power consumption analysis of electrical systems
  • Review software code and participate in agile software development
  • Present analysis, and evaluation results to internal and external customers


  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or Software Engineering and 10+ years of experience in systems or software engineering
  • Secret security clearance or higher
  • Experience with Matlab, Visual Studio (C++), Python, AFSIM, Xpatch, 6DOF flight simulation

Preferred Qualification

  • Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS) and/or threat systems with a focus on multi-function phased-array radars and surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems
  • Understanding of radar physics, radar and sensor technologies, missile systems, and their modeling and simulation
  • Knowledge of industry standard tools for EO/IR and RF signature modeling (Xpatch, full-wave solvers, OSC, etc.)
  • Familiarity with missile defense systems and technologies, with the ability to translate designs sufficiently into the modeling and simulation environment
  • Proficiency in modeling missiles, sensors, and other missile defense related elements in mission level simulations
