JOB DESCRIPTION: SAIC is seeking a  Junior System Administrator to support the US Army Corps of Engineers RITS Program.  This position will be located onsite in Detroit, MI. This is a hands-on technical role supporting the server environment, Active Directory, etc. This also a mixed environment where you would have the opportunity to work with physical servers, virtual servers, storage infrastructure, and is a great opportunity for you to expand your hands on technical skills working on a team of System Administrators. 
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and maintain currently supported and subsequent Microsoft (MS) Windows Server Operating Systems (OS) on physical and virtual operating environments.
  • Assist in storage and data management, specifically file and folder permissions.
  • Support operational transition of enterprise solutions into production.
  • Coordinate local response to IAVA vulnerability remediation.
  • Coordinate Level 3 support to the District technical personnel.
  • Primary escalation POC for after hours and VIP level support requests.
  • Review current workloads and ticket distribution. In coordination with ITC, reassigns priorities to ensure service delivery metrics are met. Responsible for SLR performance.
  • Collaborate with the local ITC and Ops Officer to ensure the needs of the users are understood and appropriately addressed.

Qualifications

Required Education, Skills, and Experience: 
  • Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of relevant experience supporting a Windows server environment. 
  • Will also consider High School diploma and 5 years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Current DoD 8570 IA Baseline Certification, IAT Level II (minimum: Security+ CE)
  • Basic networking experience (TCP/IP, routing, SSH, OpenVPN)
  • Experience with Active Directory, file permissions, etc. a plus.
  • Experience providing desktop support, troubleshooting server and/or desktop issues, imaging computers, etc. a plus. 
  • US Citizens with an Active Secret Clearance.
