Job Description


SAIC is currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Systems Engineering Manager to join our team in Nevada!

As a member of the team you will be providing design, development, and authorization support to build an enterprise solution functions as a multilevel security (MLS) datacenter, test bed, and DevSecOps platform. You will be on the forefront of new technologies and concepts, and SAIC will design, build, test, operate and maintain this environment to support mission-specific applications in a MLS enterprise solution.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Deploy a MLS virtualized laboratory and development environment based on defined requirements and best practices, and attain an Authorization to Operate (ATO) for the deployed system
  • Lead local IT engineering team to ensure performance actions align with stated contract fulfillment requirements and support site operations lead to meet scheduled deadlines
  • Prepare engineering plans and site installation technical design packages
  • Drive completion of requirements to establish external connections with specified networks
  • Work with the customer and external service providers to help meet communication and transmission requirements
  • Analyzes system designs for risks to data confidentiality, integrity, and availability
  • Continuously apply process improvement practices for system development, installation, and testing
  • Provide technical and/or non-technical systems engineering support for requirements analysis, configuring, testing, design/development and deployment of systems and software
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications and/or recommendations
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of project requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; other work experience in lieu of degree requirements
  • Experience with Windows networks
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Experience developing a system through ATO via JSIG requirements
  • Experience deploying and maintaining enterprise systems
  • Clearance Required:  Top Secret/SCI

Desired Skills/Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban frameworks
  • Experience in providing DevSecOps implementation using Jenkins, Gitlab, or similar tools
  • Experience with IaC (infrastructure as code) and CaC (configuration as code)
