Description

SAIC is looking for an SCA Engineering Technician to support a dynamic program in Las Cruces, New Mexico. 

Recommending certification of WSTF Pressure Vessel Systems (PVSs) to the WSTF Pressure System Manager (PSM) when the requirements of the WSTF Standard Instruction (WSI) 09-SW-0024, titled “Pressure Systems”, are met, or departures from specific requirements are adequately covered by a variance.

  •  Providing recommendations for correcting non-conformances.
  • Informing WSTF S&MA Office Chief of any dissenting opinion concerning PVS certifications, variances, or non-conformance dispositions.
  •  Performing or directing limited Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) to monitor the integrity of PVS.
  •  Verifying that the PVS meets or exceeds the requirements of WSI 09-SW-0024.
  •  Reviewing PVS Package Documentation to ensure conformance to the applicable WSI 09-SW-0024 requirements and identifies missing content.
  •  Verifying that required NDE and testing was performed.
  •  Specifying additional inspection points to the PVS Designe

 

Qualifications

 

  •  High School diploma with a minimum of 2 years of basic Engineering courses in mechanical, chemical, civil engineering or engineering technology, or physics courses from an accredited institution. A degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the design, fabrication, installation, operation, or evaluation of pressure vessels or piping systems. Engineering and/or physics courses may be substituted for experience.
  • Familiarity with ASME, NBIC, ANSI, API, AWS, and DOT Codes, Standards, and Regulations.
