SAIC is seeking an aggressive and highly adaptable individual to join its Procurement Team as a Procurement Associate. Individual must be able to work in a high paced, team environment and must be organized and detail oriented. Candidates local to the Oak Ridge/Knoxville, TN areas highly preferred. This position can be worked 100% remote nationwide.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Sources, negotiates and purchases IT Hardware and software, fabricated parts, machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies and incidental services necessary for operation of an organization or program.
  • Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.
  • Frequently communicate with internal company and external contacts.
  • Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluates areas of opportunity to leverage material acquisitions.
  • Tracks data to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.
  • Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
  • Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records.
  • Prepares request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.
  • Reviews license agreements, negotiates terms and conditions, and works with requester, legal, cyber security and privacy to reduce and mitigate risk to SAIC.
  • Limited use and/or application of principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Limited knowledge of industry practices and standards. Receives predetermined work assignment with specific instructions.
  • Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
  • Work is closely supervised.
  • Follow specific, detailed instructions.
  • Contributions are usually limited to task-related activities.
  • Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the group.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and zero (0) years’ of related experience. Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
  • High school diploma/GED equivalent and four (4) years' of equivalent experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

Required Skills:

  • Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Solid negotiation, oral, and written communication skills are required.
  • Must possess a positive and proactive attitude and ability to handle multiple high visibility critical tasks simultaneously.

Target salary range: $45,001 - $55,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
