Job Description


SAIC is seeking a Sr. Authorization Basis Document Consultant I / Analyst.  This position will be responsible for preparing and reviewing Safety Basis Documents, including but not limited to: Documented Safety Analysis (DSAs); Technical Safety Requirements (TSRs); consequence calculation; hazard analysis; safety basis strategy documents.


  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience.  Professional experience will be in safety basis development for hazard category 2 or 3 facilities.
  • Professional knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, and techniques of nuclear propulsion, mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiological engineering applicable to the full range of engineering duties concerned with the administration, management, planning, and evaluation of federal government and contractor activities involving radiological health and safety precautions, propulsion plant design changes and ship construction.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
  • Must be U.S. Citizen


  • 20 years' experience in safety basis development for hazard category 2 or 3 facilities
  • Experience with Nuclear Explosive Operation and/or High Explosive Operations preferred.
  • Existing DOE Q or Top Secret clearance

Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
