SAIC has an opening for an Enterprise Architect. This position can be worked 100% remote nationwide. 

  • Develop and implement the architecture governance process, drive alignment, and educate teams to these standardized practices and guidelines
  • Document, describe, and design architecture governance and design patterns for distributed software development
  • Lead architecture review of complex or critical changes to the system, including leading design discussions, ensuring meaningful stakeholder feedback, and working with service teams to implement improvements
  • Work across architecture teams to develop a consistent taxonomy and standards for architecture artifacts, including design documents, support material, and reference material
  • Manage and conduct system-wide impact reviews to assess the architecture impact of significant service or application changes

  • Mentor distributed solution architects to ensure consistency and quality in deliverables, designs, and architecture artifacts

  • Create and maintain the policies and principles to guide technology decisions for the business architecture

  • Identify opportunities to improve ITO systems to support business processes and utilize emerging technologies

  • Promote and educate customers and stakeholders on the use and value of business architecture

  • Provide architecture governance guidance, support, and coordination to customers and IT project teams

  • Ensure technical integration is achieved across ITO by participating in test planning, validation, and reviews

  • Coordinate and conduct governance and portfolio management activities associated with ensuring compliance with the business architecture; and/or ensuring the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices to all components of the architecture

  • Design, document and drive adoption of business architectures and frameworks

  • Provide technical oversight to vendor solution implementations

  • Assume a leadership role in establishing and ensuring compliance with IT governance policies and initiatives including standards, best practices and policies

  • Serve as subject matter expert in multiple technology areas

  • Lead and coordinates IT architecture with IT project management, engineering, maintenance, QA, and risk management

  • Assure that solution designs meet requirements for scalability, performance and quality in accordance with negotiated service level agreements

  • Work with software engineers, QA engineers, technical writers, configuration management and infrastructure, as needed, to ensure quality and the successful EA implementation of new applications or features

  • Provide assessments of technical and operational practices based on leading industry standards specific to the requested technology

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and nine (9) years or more of experience or Master’s and seven (7) years or more of related experience

  • Solid leadership, change management, and communication experience

  • Experience with Azure, AWS or VMWare enterprise implementations, with migration of on-premises infrastructure to Azure and or AWS cloud

  • Knowledge in areas of Cloud Architecture, along with Enterprise Architecture frameworks, approaches, and integration technology

  • Direct experience developing solutions architecture and evaluating architectural alternatives for private, public, and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services

  • Design and/or implementation of an end-to-end cloud based business solutions (SaaS, PaaS or laaS) for a full lifecycle

  • Experience implementing Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g, ToGAF, DoDAF)

  • Agile software development lifecycle experience

  • Working knowledge of Systems Engineering

  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect

  • TOGAF 9

  • Zachman Certified – Enterprise Architect

  • ITIL Certifications, Foundations through Expert


Target salary range: $125,001 - $135,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
