Job Description


SAIC is seeking an Engineering Intern to support the Global Positioning System (GPS) Futures team in El Segundo, CA. The GPS Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Team provides engineering, technical analysis and subject matter expertise (SME) support to the GPS program supporting the Space and Missile Center. As a member of our GPS SE&I team, you’ll work in a high-paced environment with Air Force personnel and system developers to ensure GPS remains the gold standard for position, navigation and timing.
Major duties of this position include:
  • Interfacing with the GPS Future Team to support systems integration planning between the three segments of GPS (Space, Control, and User) Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) and/or outside agencies
  • Working with the GPS SE&I Scheduling/Risk and GPS SE&I Requirements teams.
  • Modeling and Simulations on as need basis.
  • Developing and updating software to support GPS activities
  • Researching developing commercial technologies that are related to PNT/GPS systems and missions.


  • Student acquiring Bachelors/Master’s Degree in Engineering, Math, or Science 
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Demonstrated experience with developing or updating software
  • Extremely motivated individual who is a self-starter and works well in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and interrelating with diverse personnel and dynamic teams
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, specifically attention to detail

Target salary range: $50,001 - $75,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
