SAIC is looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer in San Diego, CA.


  • Develop security-related documentation including SCI Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages
  • Obtain designation as, and perform duties of, a SCI Trusted Agent (TA) in accordance with Naval Intelligence Activity (NIA) Trusted Agent Guidebook
  • Provide software architecture, systems engineering, security verification and validation.
  • Inject cybersecurity principles and rigor into major aspects of the system development life cycle (SDLC), including prescription of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-53 baseline security controls based on system categorization and in accordance with SCI/GENSER RMF procedures
  • Analyze proposed new systems, networks, and software designs for potential vulnerabilities, recommend mitigations or countermeasures
  • Assist in development and update of technical documentation for system development. Inject relevant security-related content into a variety of documents that may include Concept of Operations, Security Requirements Traceability Matrices, Requirements Traceability Verification Matrices, training documents, white papers, and Test and Evaluation (T&E) assessment reports
  • Manage SCI RMF packages in Xacta from RMF Step 1 through RMF Step 6



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and 14 years or more experience. 4 additional years in lieu of degree.


Required Skills/Certifications: Any of the following: Security+, Network+, CISSP, CISM, CISA

  • Experience with RMF and NIST compliance standards
  • Experience with Xacta and eMASS systems
  • Experience with Information Assurance and Cyber Security in the DoD
  • Collaborate to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders, government technical representatives and other supporting contractors
  • Excellent written and oral communications
  • Ability to work independently or in a team collaborative environment

Desired Skills/Certifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Navy Qualified Validator (NQV)

  • Assessment and Authorization (A&A) of software systems developed under Agile Method
  • Previous military experience in a METOC environment is a plus
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the DOD acquisition process
