SAIC has contingent job opportunities for US Navy Surface Combat Systems SMEs in support of a projected new contract. These positions will be located in and around Dahlgren, VA. 

 

This position is contingent upon contract award, expected in 2022. 

 

Description: Provides subject matter expertize that requires researching, reading and requiring knowledge in applying Aegis Weapon System, SQQ-89, SQQ-90, or applicable weapon and sensor system technical specification documents or tactical publications with responsibility for interpreting and translating content from the specifications to instruction as either an engineer, system technician and tactician, or operator tactician.  

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• The Subject Matter Expert for the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Training Facility (LTF) will provide subject expertise in Billet Training to support Train-to-Qualify and Train-to Certify (T2Q/T2C) for Officer and Enlisted personnel.
• The Subject Matter Expert for the future Guided Missile Frigate (FFG(X)) Training Facility provides subject matter expertise to the Billet Specialty Training to support T2Q/T2C and Sustainment Training for Officer and Enlisted personnel.
• The Subject Matter Expert for the Zumwalt Training Facility (ZTF) provides subject matter expertise to the Billet Specialty Training to support Ready for Qualification (RFQ) for DDG 1000 Officer and Enlisted personnel.
• The traditional schoolhouses provide Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC) and Officer Billet Specialty Training (BST) using various blends of training techniques including group paced collaborative learning exercises using Technical Training Equipment (TTE) and individual paced exercises using computer based simulations.

All schoolhouses will transition to the Ready, Relevant Learning (RRL) and Surface Training Advanced Virtual Environment - Combat Systems (STAVE-CS) concepts.

 

 

 

Qualifications

BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 14 + Years with BS 12 + Years with MS 9 + Years with PhD

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, plus Fifteen (15) plus years related experience to include:
  • Fifteen (15) years’ experience with the Aegis Weapon System, SQQ-89, SQQ-90, or applicable weapon and sensor system as either an engineer, system technician and tactician, or operator and tactician.
  • Of those fifteen years, three (3) years’ experience in a job as an instructor that requires researching, reading and requiring knowledge in applying Aegis Weapon System, SQQ-89, SQQ-90, or applicable weapon and sensor system technical specification documents or tactical publications with responsibility for interpreting and translating content from the specifications to instruction
• Secret Clearance or Higher
