FAA- Project Manager

Job Description:

Acts as a lead, manager and administrator for task(s)/project(s) effort. Serves as an interface and point of contact with government program authorities and representatives on technical and task/project issues. Supervises project operations by developing procedures, planning and directing execution of the technical, programming, maintenance and administrative support effort and monitoring and reporting progress.  Manages and controls financial and administrative aspects of the task/project with respect to contract and task requirements. 

Duties:

Supports management of the FAA UAS Partnership for Safety Program (PSP). Requires strong technical skills in aviation, flight experience - UAS specific flight experience preferable. Knowledge of FAA regulations, most notably 49 USC part 91, 107, 135 as they relate to UAS. Experience with UAS systems and capabilities. Knowledge of UAS, including technology, operations, regulations and applications. 

- Attend weekly routine Partnership for Safety Program (PSP) meetings with partners, take notes and update SharePoint

- Prepare updates for the Executive Director and deputy Executive Director of the FAA UAS Integration Office   

- Drafting and staffing MOUs/extensions, tracking signature process

- Setting up executive update meetings, scheduling on Calendar and tracking preps and associated deliverables

- Communicate with partners concerning deadlines for reports and data delivery

- Have awareness about and communicate with test site, BEYOND and other programs about overlap and synergy

Software Requirements: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word – strong knowledge of Word including document formatting with headers levels and table of contents; creation of tables; document review functions. Microsoft PowerPoint – working knowledge of power point and master slide features.  Microsoft Excel – working knowledge of spread sheets and basic excel functions.  Experience using and knowledge of SharePoint, Adobe Connect, & Microsoft Project (preferred).

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in a related field and 10 years of performance based management and supervisory experience in most of the foregoing functions with respect to technical programs/projects.  Master’s Degree may be waived with a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 15 years related program management experience on technical aviation contracts.  PMP or equivalent project or program management certification is required and must have 3 years’ experience.

 

US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Additional Notes: Job location is 470 L'Enfant Plaza SW, Washington, DC 20024.

Required clearance is an SF-85P completed on site by the FAA.
