Description

The primary purpose of this position is to develop, manage, and maintain the enterprise geospatial databases and applications using the ArcGIS Enterprise suite, develop geospatial tools and processes, support geospatial webmapping sites in Portal for ArcGIS, and support and develop field data collection applications with an emphasis on data management and web-mapping development.
 
The GIS Database Manager will help design and support the enterprise GIS applications, interact with customers and support GIS projects throughout FORSCOM. This role is located in Fort Bragg, NC.
 
Job Responsibilities:


• Design, develop, implement and maintain enterprise geospatial data models for multiple data themes (geologic, operational, midstream, land, environmental, regulatory, cadastral)
• Maintain the Esri ArcGIS Enterprise (10.5.1 and higher) and planned migrations
• Develop and maintain GIS web-based mapping platforms
• Support ongoing projects through the application development and scripting of GIS-based tools for desktop and web-based platforms
• Integrate geospatial databases with external data sources and establish workflows
• Mapping and geospatial analysis as required to support business objectives
• Works with GIS team and business users to ensure data quality and completeness
• Support strategic GIS team missions and goals and help guide technical vision
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience - additional years of experience accepted in lieu of degree
  • Active TS/SCI clearance

Job Qualifications:


• GIS experience required (6 years minimum),  geography or related engineering/physical sciences required
• Experience using the Esri suite of products including ArcMap, ArcGIS Server Advanced or ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcSDE on Microsoft SQL, Portal/ArcGIS Online, Python scripting required
• Experience with data modeling, data conversion and ability to work with survey and georeferenced data required
• Experience with ArcGIS Navigator, Survey 123, Collector, Workflow Manager, and GeoEvent Server, and GPS units (Trimble) and field data collection processes desirable
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly to changing priorities
• Strong work ethic; diplomatic; team and service oriented; builds strong working relationships
• Exhibits superior verbal communication and exceptional customer service skills
• Consistently demonstrates professional demeanor, appearance and attitude
• Sound independent judgment and problem-solving ability

• Experience in the oil and gas field operations is preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft office suite of software
