SAIC is seeking a Configuration Analyst Sr to support the US Navy in Crane, IN.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Configuration Analyst Sr provides the overall Configuration Management (CM) infrastructure and environment to the product development team. The CM function supports the product development activity so that developers and integrators have appropriate workspaces to build and test their work, and so that all artifacts are available for inclusion in the deployment unit as required. The Configuration Analyst Sr also has to ensure that the CM environment facilitates product review, and change and defect tracking activities. Configuration Management/Data Management (CM/DM) support in the areas of configuration planning, identification, control, accounting, and audits. Duties may include assisting in the development, review, and update of various CM Plans; establish and record the approved technical description of all systems, equipment, and items to be configuration managed by providing a level of detail necessary for management of the acquisitions, tests and evaluations, logistics support, operations, and competitive procurements of these systems and components. The Configuration Analyst Sr is also responsible for writing the CM Plan and reporting progress statistics based on change requests. The Configuration Analyst Sr will also establish the CM Infrastructure, including the responsibility of setting up a CM technology and process. This may comprise an analysis phase consisting of understanding the current environment and a CM technology selection phase consisting evaluating the best CM technology for the needs of the organization.  The Configuration Analyst Sr will establish a design phase consisting of defining the processes and standards of using the technology and an implementation phase consisting of installing the CM technology, importing the code, and setting up user workspaces.

JOB DUTIES:

• Prepare configuration documentations and maintain Configuration Management (CM) database.
• Review and recommend improvements to existing CM processes.
• Maintain data quality, integrity and security of CM database.
• Schedule audits on CM database and assist in implementing audit recommendations.
• Develop security guidelines to avoid unauthorized damage or usage of project items.
• Work with configuration teams in development and enhancement of CM tools.
• Assist in management, maintenance and automating of CM tools.
• Maintain proper version controls of software deliverables.
• Oversee the delivery of software applications in test and deployment environments.

• Analyze configuration issues and propose appropriate resolutions.
• Owns the set of tools and databases that are used to manage configuration data, known as the Configuration Management System (CMS). The CMS also includes information about incidents, problems, known errors, changes and releases; and may contain data about employees, suppliers, locations, business units, customers and users. The CMS includes tools for collecting, storing, managing, updating, and presenting data about all Configuration items and their relationships. The CMS is maintained by Configuration Management and is used by all IT Service Management Processes.
• Plans, publicizes and oversees implementation of an updated Configuration Management System (CMS).
• Ensures that the CMS is populated with CI’s according to policy.
• Ensures maintenance of the CMS.
• Ensures that CI’s are uniquely identified with naming conventions. Ensures that staff comply with identification standards for object types, environments, processes, life-cycles, documentation, versions, formats, baselines, releases and templates.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

• Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience.
• Candidate must be a US Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain a Full DOD Secret Security Clearance.
