JOB DESCRIPTION: 

SAIC is seeking a senior procurement and logistics principal to be responsible for complete ownership of procurement lifecycle including issuing RFQs, price analysis, negotiating favorable terms and conditions, issuing purchasing orders, and following up with internal customers to ensure the goods receipts are completed, providing senior GPOC staff with weekly procurement status. Additionally, be the equipment and peripherals manager through the entire project and program life cycle for an exciting and innovative program. The successful candidate will work both independently and in a team-based environment to develop, coordinate and manage equipment repository, processes, methodology, and related communication 

  • Serve as a SME in support of Supply Chain/Logistics/Property Management and Procurement requirements 
  • Complete ownership of procurement lifecycle including issuing RFQs, price analysis, negotiating favorable terms and conditions, issuing purchasing orders, and following up with internal customers to ensure the goods receipts are completed 
  • Interact with stakeholders, vendors and contractors to maintain efficient and effective control management processes, procedures and systems 
  • Assist program/project team to develop and maintain periodic status reports to keep all parties informed 
  • Attend meetings and assist with determination of equipment requirements and status
  • Assess processes and procedures to identify efficiencies aimed at streamlining initiatives 
  • Apprise management and all program stakeholders of risk and progress issues early enough to be addressed 
  • Support Procurement, Warehousing, Asset Management, Plant Maintenance, and Government Transportation 
  • Serve as a SME for administration, management, and control of Plant, Property & Equipment (PP&E) 
  • Assist with the proper reutilization of Government property and disposal of surplus property

Erroneous decisions or recommendations would normally result in failure to achieve goals critical to the major objectives of the organization. LIASON: Serves as prime consultant and external spokesperson for the organization on highly significant matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities, and long-range goals and objectives.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Experience in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, or related discipline 

  • Possess knowledge of industry accepted standards and best practices related to Supply Chain Management 

  • Demonstrate ability to conduct analysis and evaluations- making recommendations and providing professional advice and assistance to include preparing criteria and analytical aids, briefings, reports, and presentations 

  • Skilled/comfortable working in high-tempo environment, able to be flexible and to adjust to dynamic political, technical, and/or fiscal challenges 

  • Understanding of Systems Applications & Products (SAP), SharePoint, and Microsoft Suite (Project, PowerPoint, Excel) 

  • Knowledge of Property Manuals 

Bachelors and fifteen (15) years or more of related experience; Masters and thirteen (13) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.

Clearance required to start: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
