SAIC is seeking qualified candidates to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFMS) program.

AFMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners requiring these capabilities to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations. As the lead agent for M&S within the USAF, AFMS gathers requirements, seeks out potential solutions, and integrates legacy and emerging M&S solutions across the USAF and the DoD. The USAF has an M&S initiative that focuses on providing simulation and synthetic training as the critical capability to augment live training, act as an enabler for critical decision-making, and enhance human performance. In the current resource constrained environment, demand for M&S rises with the continuously evolving need for operational readiness and mission preparedness across the USAF, DoD, and with coalition partners. AFMS focuses on providing innovative M&S services as the key to meeting this demand.

The role of this position is to support the Simulator Common Architecture Requirements and Standards (SCARS) team at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. The Master Scheduler will support the SCARS program by creating and maintaining schedules as well as activities related to monitoring and assisting with tracking actions related to a schedule of events. Integrate multiple schedules from a variety of sources into one master schedule. Maintain data integrity and configuration control of the schedule while allowing interested stakeholders to view and contribute to the schedule as desired. Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders as needed to ensure all data is accurate and current. Present the schedule as needed in formats required by stakeholders to ensure they have awareness of the program to keep it on schedule. Alert stakeholders when issues are discovered related to the schedule.

Required Skills

  • An expert in MS Project and Excel and proficient in all other MS Office products
  • Six years’ experience working creating and maintaining schedules using scheduling software
  • Have a strong working knowledge of the critical path, earn value management and work breakdown structures and knowledge of scheduling theories
  • Strong computer skills with a very strong emphasis on spreadsheet competency

Desired Skills

  • Air Force and/or DOD Acquisition experience
  • Understanding the SCARS program
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP, CompTIA Project+, PRINCE2 etc)

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and ten (10) years or more of related experience; Masters and eight (8) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and two (2) years or more experience
