Job Description: SAIC is hiring a Principal Logistics Specialist for NIWC-Pacific San Diego, supporting a major ACAT Level II program and the Logistics Comms, Cyber & Networks Support Branch.
About the Position: In this role you will report to the ADNS ISEA (Integrated Service Engineering Agent) ILS (Integrated Logistics Support) Manager and be responsible for the planning, development, implementation and management of airborne systems. Specifically, you will support Airborne Systems such as the MQ-25 Triton, the integration of ADNS (Automated Digital Network System), ANTS (Advanced Networking Tactical System) and other customer funded projects.  You will work with project partners, stakeholders and end-users and simultaneously plan for material support and system support strategies during the acquisition and operational phases of the system’s life cycle. This role as a logistician will be an integral part of PMW-160’s capability to deliver and support airborne weapon systems that are technologically superior and readily available to our Navy and Marines operating across the globe.  Prior experience with NAVAIR logistics policies and standard operating procedures highly desirable.
Your day to day may include:
  • Attending meetings with Program internal, external, and industry related partners to advance ILS interests
  • Directing team efforts to accomplish program goals such as providing logistics support, answering data calls, updating or creating airborne logistics documents
  • Interfacing with all levels of the ADNS Airborne IPT on logistics matters related to engineering, modification planning and scheduling, and logistics planning.
  • Reviewing ADNS Airborne logistics update/modification requirements for hardware Engineering Change Proposals, schedules and plans to ensure that schedule requirement are timely met.
  • Preparing draft status briefings appropriate for release to internal and external organizations.
  • Analyzing, planning, coordinating, and managing key logistics support requirements in support of the Airborne APM (Assistant Program Manager).
Additional roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited too:
  • Ensuring standard logistics policies and procedures are applied to the ANTS and other Airborne systems logistics program
  • Identifying and/or determining logistics planning tasks, actions, projects, and scheduling required to implement/execute airborne program responsibilities as assigned
  • Identifying system logistics problems, challenges and issues and developing solutions and resolutions to correct deficiencies
  • Identifying tasks, actions, and monitoring and/or tracking implementation of remedies in best interests of program Airborne systems
  • Maintaining liaisons and coordinating directly with various levels of personnel and industry technical experts/partners regarding various supply support issues and policy guidance to the ADNS Airborne program
  • Defining program/airborne logistics supportability and reliability functions to be monitored and reported on via multiple sources of reporting.
  • Developing program logistics documents/packages as required
  • Conducting periodic spares analysis in support of program logistics sustainment engineering
  • Identifying, planning, resourcing, and acquiring packaging/preservation, handling, storage and transportation (PHST) requirements to maximize availability and usability of the materiel to include support items as required
  • Defining the configuration baseline of the system (hardware and software) to effectively support the ADNS Airborne Program
  • Ensuring proper Configuration data management via established Navy databases
  • Implementing the integration of the quantitative design characteristics of systems engineering focused on reliability and maintainability for ANTS and other Airborne systems as assigned


Required Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 or more years of experience in managing logistics programs.
  • Will also consider a HS diploma and 14 years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of NAVAIR policies, procedures, and instructions related to logistics
  • Experience supporting, coordinating and managing ILS products and services
  • Knowledge and experience in meeting major program milestones, developing solutions to complex programmatic and technical issues to identify and mitigate schedule and cost risks as they pertain to logistics management
  • DAU Logistics Level 1 or equivalent certification; or willingness to obtain within 2 years from date of hire
  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
Desired Skills & Proficiencies:
  • Experience with EAGLE software
  • Prior work on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)
