SAIC is seeking qualified candidates to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFMS) program.

AFMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners requiring these capabilities to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations. As the lead agent for M&S within the USAF, AFMS gathers requirements, seeks out potential solutions, and integrates legacy and emerging M&S solutions across the USAF and the DoD. The USAF has an M&S initiative that focuses on providing simulation and synthetic training as the critical capability to augment live training, act as an enabler for critical decision-making, and enhance human performance. In the current resource constrained environment, demand for M&S rises with the continuously evolving need for operational readiness and mission preparedness across the USAF, DoD, and with coalition partners. AFMS focuses on providing innovative M&S services as the key to meeting this demand.

The role of this position is to support the USAF Special Operations Command at Hurlburt Field, FL. The Special Operations Exercise Planner will:

  • Planners/joint exercise controllers provide support Service for SOF JNTC exercises.
  • The planner(s)/joint exercise controller(s) support the SOF JNTC in capturing and refining joint training audience requirements, develop the exercise design throughout the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC), conduct critical simulator testing, and provide exercise control during event execution. Exercises will range from tier one to tier four events. 
  • The planner(s) will develop scenario/mission planning products such as the Air Tasking Order (ATO) and Airspace Control Order (ACO). 
  • The planner(s) are the primary authors of assessment deliverables used by AFSOC, USSOCOM, and JS J7.
  • The assessments are critical in determining mission readiness of Special Operations Forces (SOF) and Conventional Forces (CF). The planners exercise joint force integration, interoperability, and interdependence outlined the National Defense Strategy (NDS) and National Military Strategy (NMS).

Qualifications

The following skills are required:

  • 10 years’ experience as a CAF/MAF aircrew (instructor qualification preferred) and/or USAF Modeling and Sim scenario/training developer.
  • Experience in developing training/C2 products such as ATO, ACO, mission briefing and after action report.
  • Experience developing and executing LVC scenarios for Joint Forces
  • Desired experience: AFSOC/JSOAC experience
  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience.

A Top Secret security clearance is required for this position.
