SAIC is seeking a Instructional Design Specialist. The Instructional Design & Course Developers are responsible for developing wiring diagrams, flow charts and building content layout for the Learning Content Management System (LCMS) website and Distance Learning (DL) training courses.

Daily roles and responsibilities are as followed.

• Performs Instructional Design for the Defense Nuclear Weapons School (DNWS), developing learning content in support of DNWS courses.
• Develops instructional and presentational (briefing) content for DNWS students and staff.
• Works closely with Academic Instructors and Information Technology (IT) to support the cross-functional delivery of in-residence & online learning.
• Identifies new e-learning technologies and evaluates appropriateness for DNWS.
• Works with IT to develop LCMS infrastructure necessary to maintain a competitive and marketable online program.
• Ensure DNWS compliance with security policies, accreditation standards, and copyright.
• Oversees technology plans that increase the program’s ability to enhance course design and strengthen content delivery.
• Conducts comprehensive evaluation of all phases of training and outcome achievements.
• Researches and implements plans to expand the methods of curriculum presentation in order to appeal students varied learning styles.
• Assist faculty in ensuring courses meet the high educational standards of DNWS; conducts annual review of courses to ensure high standards and that current material is accurate.
• Provides media support for content development
• Participates in design and execution of staff training courses

This job is temporarily remote/work from home/virtual due to COVID-19. The work will go back to 100% onsite at Kirtland Air Force Base once the threat of COVID-19 has passed.

Qualifications

Education and Expereince: 

• Bachelors and six (6) years or more of related experience; Masters and four (4) years of experience 
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and outside agencies
• Ability to use initiative and resourcefulness in problem-solving
• Ability to apply policies and procedures consistently and correctly
• Knowledge of current issues, trends, and best practices in training & education
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Knowledge of digital media and e-learning design approaches to education
• Knowledge of instructional design practices with the ability to convey complex technical concepts.

Clearance :

• Active/current Secret clearance is required
