SAIC is seeking a highly motivated Geospatial Engineer for a position in the Office of the GEOINT Chief Architect (OGCA).  OGCA is responsible for exploring solutions for the GEOINT architecture.  OGCA analyzes architectures to inform decision based on cost, risk and performance.  OGCA collaborates with NRO Directorates and Offices, Mission Partners, Intelligence Community, and the Department of Defense.  In conjunction with NGA through the GEOINT Futures Study Group, OGCA coordinates and conducts End-to-End capability studies and operates the GEOINT Collaboration Center (GCC) to collaborate architecturally across the GEOINT Enterprise, NGA, NRO, and the IC/DoD in solving complex problems through resident knowledge of phenomenology and systems, and gain insight into how products are being used while defining future capabilities.

The successful candidate will have a degree in engineering, engineering management, physics, or imaging/remote sensing and a background in space systems, platforms and/or technology necessary to provide advisory and assistance support to user engagements with NGA, the DoD, and the IC to facilitate interactions on studies and the various GCA efforts across the community.  Key skills / duties include:

• Improving the IC and DoD awareness of all GEOINT Systems and capabilities as well as encouraging existing and potential customers to use and interact with the GCC
• Providing a conduit for collecting, understanding, and conveying current and emerging customer needs, including tasking, back to the NRO and other partner agencies, in or to provide timely and relevant data, services, and solutions to both traditional and non-traditional users.
• Employing a full suite of GEOINT analysis and exploitation tools to understand and assist users in exploiting emerging capabilities
• Integrating feedback from users to understand and highlight how systems are currently being used to inform definition of future capabilities
• Collaboration with other centers to integrate and fuse intelligence with GEOINT data
• Coordinating, maintaining, and tracking GEOINT Outreach visits
• Coordinating Senior Level Visits with GCA, GEOINT and NGA/G, identify venues and defining agendas; coordinate briefing support from program offices, GCA and NGA/G, and coordinating logistics and materials for briefers
• Use analysis, simulation and modeling tools to inform studies, verify capabilities and evaluate architecture alternatives
• Provide day-to-day support to Government Points of Contact to assure routine actions are addressed; provide recommendations/products that reflect the mission and technical capabilities of systems
• Liaise with mission analysis, acquisition, and requirement teams to ensure accurate and consistent messaging to externals

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience.

• BS degree in space operations or related technical discipline
• 10 years' experience in space operations, mission planning, and collaboration with Defense or National intelligence user communities
• Demonstrated ability to work in fast paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated project management experience and thorough knowledge of NRO technical and business processes

Desired Qualifications:

• Master's degree in space system operations, engineering, engineering management or related technical discipline
• 10 years' experience in NRO space operations, mission planning, and providing technical oversight and support to senior Government Customers
• Ability to deliver effective briefings/presentations/paper on complex topics for audiences that may be large and/or include high-level decision makers
• Demonstrated ability to provide actionable recommendations and products for Government decision makers that reflect the best path based on extensive operational experience
