Description
Description: Position involves systems engineering, functional analysis of ATC/M system requirements, development, production, test and evaluation of related information systems. Includes, but not limited to, systems engineering activities oversight, demonstrated expertise with new and legacy systems, technical alternative analyses, acquisition management of information systems, and information management tools. The candidate will also need to provide site support, development, testing, documentation, risk assessment, evaluation, subject matter expertise, operations integration, and impact analysis to new systems that affect the National Airspace System (NAS).
The candidate will provide support to the FAA Aviation Weather and Aeronautical Services programs. Support tasks include assisting in Program Management activities, Hardware, Software, and Systems Engineering. The candidate will support Safety engineering activities including the completion of safety documentation, gathering system and change description data sufficient to support the safety case, drafting or support the drafting of the safety documentation appropriate to the change. The Systems Engineer will also support strategic planning efforts to support the development, execution, and identification of solutions to complex issues.
Qualifications
MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:
The job requires technical and operational support to implement and maintain FAA systems within the National Airspace System (NAS). The candidate must have the ability for the following:
Master of Science degree in an engineering, mathematics, computer science or related discipline and 10+ years’ experience required. Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering, mathematics, computer science or related discipline with 15 years of ATC/M systems design and development support experience would be considered.
US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
