Description

SAIC has an opportunity for a Cyber Engineer to support the US Army Corps of Engineers Revolutionary IT Services (USACE RITS) program.

NOTE: This is a 100% virtual / work from home / remote position located anywhere in the CONUS.

The USACE RITS contract will provide modern and secure enterprise-wide IT support services to approximately 37,000 USACE customers located throughout the CONUS and OCONUS. Services will support the mission needs of USACE’s Headquarters (HQs) located in Washington, D.C., nine Divisions and 43 Districts, to include over 1,500 field and area project offices and two data centers that are currently located in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Hillsboro, Oregon.

 

The ideal candidate will support USACE OCIO/G-6 cyber plans and exercises to assess, evaluate, and update the USACE OCIO/G-6 cyber posture. Major duties include:

  1. Administer the development, planning, and exercises to be performed.
  2. Attend exercise planning conferences, provide expert advice for development of planning documentation, participate during exercise and other security cooperation events, and prepare AARs and lessons learned during all phases of DCO support exercises.
  3. Support mission planning, mission analysis, technical analysis, and Concept of Operations (CONOPs).
  4. Develop and/or provide input to OPORDs, CONOPs, and courses of action.
  5. Support management and planning operations by submitting mission requests, providing status reports, and submitting AAR comments

Other general duties include: Architects, plans, configures, deploys, maintains, and upgrades COTS/GOTS and custom toolsets to address vulnerabilities and/or implement security controls. Applies a combination of expert engineering knowledge of enterprise IT and security solutions to design, develop and/or implement solutions to ensure they are consistent with enterprise architecture security policies and support full spectrum military cyberspace operations. Designs, tests, and implements secure operating systems, networks, security monitoring, tuning and management of IT security systems and applications, incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions. Includes security control design and solution planning at the system, mission, and enterprise level, security-in-depth/defense-in-depth, and other related IAM/ISSO/ISSE support functions. Involved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access. Researches and evaluates cyber capabilities and new security tools and products against operational requirements and introduces them to the enterprise in alignment with IT security strategy, and to support the offensive and defensive capability design and troubleshoot and problem solve technical and non-technical issues. . At the Leadership level this is senior technical staff dedicated to transforming customer environments into a more secure operating environment in a holistic manner. SCOPE: N/A LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT: N/A KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to development of new principles and concepts. Participates with senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Recommends/makes decisions on administrative or project work matters and ensures effective achievement of program, project, or organizational objectives. PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious. FREEDOM TO ACT: Works under consultative direction toward pre-determined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated. Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review of supervisor. Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. IMPACT: Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically results in failur to achieve critical organizational objectives and affect image of organization's technological capability. LIASON: Serves as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs. Acts as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience.

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:  Must have or be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance


Target salary range: $145,001 - $155,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
