SAIC has an opportunity for a Database Engineer to support the US Army Corps of Engineers Revolutionary IT Services (USACE RITS) program.
NOTE: This is a 100% virtual / work from home / remote position located anywhere in the CONUS.
The USACE RITS contract will provide modern and secure enterprise-wide IT support services to approximately 37,000 USACE customers located throughout the CONUS and OCONUS. Services will support the mission needs of USACE’s Headquarters (HQs) located in Washington, D.C., nine Divisions and 43 Districts, to include over 1,500 field and area project offices and two data centers that are currently located in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Hillsboro, Oregon.
Establishes database management systems, standards, requirements, guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design and architecture, logical database, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading plan, data maintenance plan and security policy. Specific responsibilities of the Database Engineer include working with clients to translate business requirements into a logical model that will accurately support and represent the clients entity relationship and flow of data including: developing the appropriate database framework to convert the logical model into a physical model including the creation and maintenance of schemas containing windows, screens, tables and columns and reports that support the model; and making recommendations to maximize operating efficiency, support storage requirements and vendor software updates, enforce data governance, ensure recovery is maintained. Also, participates in quality assurance and develops test application code in client server environment.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
Required Oracle experience:
- Oracle DB 18c and 19c expertise on Solaris and Linux platforms
- Hands on experience in architecting the Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) deployments in a High Availability mode (level 3 but Level 4 preferred) for Oracle 19c in On Prem and in migration to the cloud.
- Experience in setup and configuration of OEM High Availability on Prem and migration to the cloud (Azure or AWS).
- Experience integrating Active Directory via LDAP for authentication with OAM
- Experience in setup and configuration of Oracle Authentication Manager (OAM) On Prem installation and migration to the Cloud (Azure or AWS)
- Experience in migration of OEM and components from SPARC to x86 architecture
Desired Experience:
- Setup and configuration of OEM back up and Disaster Recovery; St up of BI Publisher servers
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. Can start work with an Interim Secret
Target salary range: $85,001 - $95,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
