Job Description:  Join a winning team!  SAIC’s National Security and Space (NSS) Sector is currently hiring for a customer within the Intelligence Community (IC) in Chantilly, VA. This customer is responsible for designing, building, and operating national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground. NSS Sector has an opening for a systems engineering office lead to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) services to an IC customer. The customer organization we support provides the enterprise architecting, analysis, and systems engineering solutions that determine the current and future national space systems.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Managing a complex and disparate portfolio of customer project efforts and services
  • Supporting program-level staffing needs to include resource identification, candidate sourcing and interview conduct
  • Oversight of technical project execution and timely delivery of assigned CDRLs
  • Coordinating with other assigned office-level support leads to ensure consistency, deconfliction and excellence in technical execution
  • Facilitate and conduct broad cross-office collaboration and coordination in concert with program leadership
  • Advance customer intimacy and transparency working seamlessly across office and division leadership  
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of customer Space mission capabilities and ability to advance and inform the Enterprise Architecture
  • Exhibit proven thought leadership to advise, foster and promote client solutioning   
  • Developing and executing office-level strategy to increase technical acumen and improve program-level execution
  • Responding to data call requests from program management
  • Supporting Program Management Reviews (PMRs) with content development and presentation
  • Identifying strategic thrust/focus areas that enhance and evolve the customer’s mission vision
  • Identifying and executing process improvement opportunities within assigned office and across program
  • Leading and facilitating customer’s vision towards Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) in support of systems engineering objectives and program milestones
  • Working across multiple Directorates and Offices to identify and define future space capability needs
  • Mentoring team members in work and career goals
  • Supporting corporate-level line management by providing inputs on personnel performance for merit/promotion opportunities
  • Frequent interaction with government, SETA, FFRDC, and external stakeholders
  • Preparing briefings for senior decision makers

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) or related discipline with at least 18 years of relevant experience
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
  • Experience developing resource/manning strategies for complex systems engineering initiatives and efforts
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, coordinate, and synergize efforts through cross-community engagement
  • Proven experience working in a high-visibility program leadership position
  • Expert-level understanding and experience in core systems engineering and analysis disciplines and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) or related discipline
  • Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification
  • Prior program-level leadership experience
  • Familiar with MBSE
  • Prior US military and/or IC customer experience
