SAIC is seeking a Database Administrator to join a collaborative agile team in a highly mission-focused environment. The candidate will manage 6-8 databases across development, test and production environments. The DBA must be a dynamic, innovative, self-starting problem solver who possesses the aptitude and attitude to tackle unsolved technical challenges, and is capable of working in fast-paced development environments with little assistance.

Responsibilities:

• Install and then maintain the performance of Oracle and MySQL database servers
• Develop processes for optimizing database security
• Set and maintain database standards
• Manage database access
• Performance tuning of database systems
• Install, upgrade, and manage database applications
• Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors
• Create and manage database reports
• Create automation for repeating database tasks
• Be available for on-call support as needed.

Qualifications

• Current/Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Minimum of 9 years of relevant IT experience
• 5+ years of Oracle and/or MySQL database administration
• 5+ years of monitoring and performance tuning databases
• Strong foundation in Linux
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology
• Experience working within an agile team environment
