Job Description


SAIC is searching for an experienced Senior Business Analyst who can gather important information needed to generate requirements, user stories, use cases, business process models, and other artifacts necessary to document business needs based on the changing business IT landscape of our client. Review, analyze and evaluate the business systems and user needs. Our ideal candidate has the ability to become a subject matter expert for the system, work in a past-paced Agile project, and is comfortable collaborating with both the internal and business teams. They will also translate business data into digestible information that improves client processes.

This is a 100% remote / work from home role but there is a preference for people to be in the VA/MD area for occasional travel to the customer site for meetings. 


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop comprehensive use stories for development and testing needs as well as use cases at the application and multi-application levels
  • Work collaboratively with the Project Manager to ensure quality and delivery of all work products
  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
  • Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications
  • Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications
  • Recommend controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures
  • Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Interpret, evaluate and interrelate research data and develop integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making
  • Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes
  • Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations.
  • Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes



  • Bachelor’s and 5+ years of relevant experience or a master’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience. May consider an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree 
  • Practical application ability with Microsoft Office, Jira and Visio
  • Detailed analytical abilities
  • Proven track record to work independently as well as collaborate with a team
  • Must have experience leading meetings and working closely and effectively with stakeholders
  • Organized with strong time-management skills
  • Strong experience in user testing and requirements management
