SAIC is seeking a FSR Engineering Technician deployed OCONUS in Bagram, Afghanistan as a SME in support of AFCENT Tactical Vehicle C4ISR.

 

Job Duties:

  • Perform duties as a FSR deployed OCONUS in support of USAF Air Combat Command (ACC) Field Support Contract.
  • Responsible for the verification, troubleshooting and repair of various types of government furnished equipment (GFE), data and power assemblies for the tactical vehicle C4ISR systems.
  • Perform routine tasks from written / verbal procedures.
  • May set-up and conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering analysis and/or Government buy-off inspections. May perform alternate equipment custodian duties as well as receiving MSE shipments, conducting inventory, and assisting in packaging and preparing equipment for shipment down range.
  • Use the USAF IMDS to log and record repair and fault analysis.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or other formal electronics training from Technical School OR Class A military school in electronics or communications, OR four (4) year electronics apprentice program.
  • Three (3) years of practical experience to include laboratory testing, manufacturing, or maintenance.

OR

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Five (5) years of practical experience to include laboratory testing, manufacturing, or maintenance.

 

Clearance Requirement:

  • US Citizen with active Position of Trust with the ability to obtain Secret. Active and recently inactive (within last three (3) years and eligible for reactivation or crossover) DOD clearances accepted.

 

Physical Requirements:
Candidate must be able to complete the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis; as well as sitting, standing, stooping or squatting for extended periods of time. Must be able and willing to work inside of enclosed, confined areas of vehicles; must have skills at manipulating and handling objects and tools needed for installation of equipment.

Prior to start date, must be able to pass Deployment Processing Command (DPC) pre-deployment training which will include a physical medical examination. Must pass current CDC / WHO guidelines for not being high risk for COVID to include being under age 60, not on any heart medications, etc.
