Job Description


SAIC is seeking a Systems Analyst on a multi-year contract supporting our Joint Staff (JS) J6 government customer. The ideal candidate will have experience on a Joint, Service or combatant command operational staff operating/ coordinating systems in the areas of command and control, fires, and or common operational picture. Experience from time spent at a Joint or Service developmental/ operational test organization planning and executing assessments is also desired.

Position Description: 

This position is at the Joint Staff Complex, Suffolk, VA. The position supports the JS J6 Deputy Director for Cyber, and Command, Control, Communications and Computers Integration (DD C5I) in the Cyber, Engineering and Operations Division. Work would be on-site at the Suffolk, VA location. Travel would be approximately 10% supporting exercises and assessments (planning and execution).

General Duties:

  • Researches, identifies, and makes recommendations about resources required for task execution and completion. Gathers, processes, and analyzes system and operational utilization data.
  • Assists with the testing and evaluation of new systems or updates to existing systems to meet client needs.


Required Education: 

Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.


Required Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years Joint, Service or combatant command operational staff operating/ coordinating systems in the areas of command and control, fires, and or common operational picture.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation and execution of detailed C2 system analysis, including interim and final reports and presentation of analysis data.
  • Must have an active Secret security clearance and be eligible for Top Secret
  • Must be a U.S. citizen


Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in testing and evaluating C2 systems.
    • Assessing requirements and developing test plans
    • Developing data collection methods (surveys, questionnaires, templates, etc.)
  • Able to operate C2 systems in a laboratory environment.  Types of systems include:  Global Command and Control – Joint (GCCS-J), Global Command and Control – Integrated Imagery and Intelligence (GCCS-I3), Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS), Advance Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), Distributed Common Ground Systems (DCGS), or other C2 military systems.

Excellent communications and analytical skills; a working knowledge of computers systems and integrated software application programs (MS Office suite).
