SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineering and Integration Engineer Senior to provide System Engineering & Integration engineering and architecture development support to the Underwater Acoustics Program Team in Bedford, IN.

 
JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Providing support in the assessment of current weapon system performance, analysis of future capabilities, coordination of assessment of gaps in the performance, integration of dynamic modeling/simulations with the system model.
  • Will be responsible for review of integration documentation such as the Program Master Integration Plan and recommend changes to the plan to synchronize Advanced Concepts Program future plans with Integration and Assessment Plans.
JOB DUTIES:
  • Demonstrate practical lifecycle systems engineering experience which includes stakeholder needs definition, system requirements definition and management; system architecture, analysis and design; integration, test, and verification; and, system performance assessment.
  • Have a good grasp of MBSE and SysML to effectively communicate system structure, behavior, requirements, and provide parametric analyses to various Underwater Acoustics M&S stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other team members in developing engineering documentation (e.g., system/subsystem specification (SSS), interface control document (ICD), interface requirements specification (IRS))
  • Demonstrate practical or working knowledge of MBSE methods such as INCOSE's Object-oriented Systems Engineering Method (OOSEM), IBM Rational Harmony-SE, or IBM RUP-SE. OMG certification (e.g., OCSMP, OCUP) and/or INCOSE certification (e.g., ASEP, CSEP).
  • Experience with MBSE software tools (e.g. MagicDraw/Camio, Sparx Enterprise Architect (EA), IBM Rational Rhapsody,) desired.
  • Experience with version control software, relational databases and database management systems (DBMS).
  • Demonstrated experience with System Requirements Preliminary Design Reviews.
  • Develops static and dynamic design and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment and packages. 
  • Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. 
  • Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. 
  • Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation. 
  • Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives. 
  • Work is reviewed by supervisor/lead to measure meeting objectives. 
  • Directs established guidelines, procedures and policies.
  • Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of the variety of factors.
  • Works under general direction on routine work.  
  • May receive detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. 
  • Follows established procedures. 
  • Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific projects. 
  • Primarily internal company contacts.  Infrequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.
  • MBSE and SysML experience to effectively communicate system structure, behavior, requirements, and provide parametric analyses to various Underwater Acoustics M&S stakeholders.

  • Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a Full DOD Secret Security Clearance.
 

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years of experience as System Engineer weapon systems development.
  • Experience supporting major defense acquisition programs or OEM(s).
