Description
We are currently seeking an experienced VMware Engineer to begin an exciting and challenging career with SAIC.
Shift Schedule: Friday - Tuesday, 11pm to 7am
Duties:
* Provide SME level troubleshooting on all technical matters related to VMware, vSphere 5.5,6.5 and 6.7
* Install, configure, and administer large complex VMware environments.
* Analyze logs, track and resolve complex using tools like vROPs, Prism, and others
* Provide on-site support to unclassified and classified environments
* Provide monitoring of systems and virtualized platforms.
* Support special projects & initiatives as required/assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* Ability to work the following schedule: Friday - Wednesday, 11pm to 7am
* Active DoD Top Secret (investigation within the last 5 years)
* Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of VMware experience. An additional 4 years of applicable experience maybe substituted in lieu of a degree.
* Possess DoD 8570.01-M/DoD 8140 Certification IAW established mandate prior to start of work - IAT Level II required (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP); IAT Level III is desirable (CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH).
* Experience with installing, configuring, and administrating large complex VMware environments
* Experience with vSphere and vCenter consolidation and upgrades
* Familiar with VM features for HA such as DRS, SRM, and vMotion
* Familiar with scripting and automation to streamline operations
Desired:
* VMware VCP Data Center Virtualization 6 or newer (desired)
* Working knowledge of Storage Area Network concepts as it relates to the virtual environment.
* Knowledge of networking including VLAN, switching, and link aggregation
* Be able to multitask multiple projects and prioritize work to support mission and customer requirements
* Work with other teams networking, storage, server operations, and security
* Experience with Nutanix HCI
