Description

SAIC is providing key design, installation, and research support to facilitate a successful implementation of a multilevel security (MLS) system meant to allow greater collaboration between various government networks. This project is on the forefront of new technologies and concepts, and SAIC will design, build, and test systems meant to challenge the existing paradigm of the USAF enterprise network architecture.

The software engineer will:

  • Design, plan, and integrate Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)-based systems and virtualized systems using DevSecOps techniques.

  • Build, configure, and test a variety of system designs supporting identification and authorization services, multilevel security (MLS), virtualization, encryption, system monitoring, and auditing.

  • Refine and optimize infrastructure architectural models and creates architectural prototypes in a lab environment

  • Adhere to appropriate architectural artifact requirements and best practices.

  • Provide systems engineering activities such as: Concept of Operations Formulation, Requirements Definition, Analysis and Engineering, System Architecting, System Analysis and Design, Interface and Data Architectures, Validation and Verification, System Integration, and System & Op. Performance Analysis.

  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

  • Analyze system designs for risks to data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors and nine (14) years or more experience; Masters and seven (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (9) years or more experience.
  • Active DoD TS/SCI required to start 
  • 5-10 years of experience combined of systems engineering and fielding experience
  • At least 3 years of experience with virtualization platforms
  • One or more active certifications in the following:
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • (ISC)2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Experience troubleshooting, integrating, and/or supporting multiple computing systems, including Linux platforms, Windows platforms, VMWare, Virtual Machines, etc.
  • Experience with Linux servers and Windows Servers in a virtualized environment.
  • Experience working with thick, thin, and zero client deployments
  • Reliable and responsive.
