SAIC is seeking an Acquisition/Contracting Support Specialist to join the National Security Customer Group (NSCG) in our Chantilly, VA office. NSCG provides specialized engineering, analysis and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. Our program supports the research and development of the generation-after-next of national security-related systems based in space, in the air and on the ground.
NSCG has an opening for an Acquisition/Contracting Support Specialist to work closely with a diverse team of engineers and scientists developing and implementing a future ground-based architecture. This position provides acquisition advisory service to an organization supporting the research and development of revolutionary ground-based systems. This position will support the development and execution of acquisition strategies and contract activities to acquire capabilities and prototypes.
Unique Duties:
* Work with government technical and contract staff to develop acquisition strategies to enable program development and implementation
* Work with government technical and contract staff to develop program acquisition packages
* Draft contract documents for government contract officer review and signature
* Provide acquisition advisory services during technical and cost evaluation of proposals
Common Duties:
* Work with technical staff to capture technical and programmatic requirements
* Develop acquisition packages in accordance with government acquisition checklists
* Draft common acquisition artifacts such as statement of work, CDRLs, In Scope Determination, and proposal evaluation criteria
* Provide acquisition advisory services during technical and cost evaluation of proposals
* Enter funding information into customer financial tools
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• Active TS/SCI with poly
• BS or MS in business or related fields
• Government contracting specialist/officer (CS/CO) experience of 9+ years
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent contract negotiation skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and environment
• Effective interpersonal skills and strong briefing and communications skills
Desired Qualifications:
• Former Government Contract Officer with a warrant
• Defense Acquisition University Certified Level 3 Contracting Specialist
