Description

SAIC is providing key design, installation, and research support to facilitate a successful implementation of a multilevel security (MLS) system meant to allow greater collaboration between various government networks. This project is on the forefront of new technologies and concepts, and SAIC will design, build, and test systems meant to challenge the existing paradigm of the USAF enterprise network architecture.


The Systems Engineer will work with an engineering team and  provide COTS software installation and configuration support to a data transport solution. Initial focus of the Systems Engineer will be to implement a Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) lab solution. This position is based in Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts area, remote option for highly qualified candidates.


Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and test network management services supporting an encrypted transport solution. Initial focus is on implementing NSA's Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) solutions.
  • Prepare engineering plans and site installation technical design packages.
  • Perform security and IA assessments and recommendations to include IAVA, IAVM, and STIG assessments and integration testing. 
  • Plan, implement, test, document, and maintain solutions to total systems or subsystems commercial off-the-shelf products.
  • Automates configuration management, including modernization of network and systems administration functions (e.g., monitoring, logs, patching, and Analyzes system designs for risks to data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Apply process improvement practices for system development, installation, and testing. 
  • Provide technical and/or non-technical systems engineering support for requirements analysis, configuring, testing, design/development and deployment of systems and software.
  • Tracks on site and CONUS wide project progress, coordinates actions to drive team collaboration and to enable government decisions.
  • Provides reports to program and government leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelors and 9+ years, Masters and 7+ years, PhD and 4+ years of experience. H.S degree considers for very highly qualified candidates      
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification required for DoD 8570 compliance
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense security requirements, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Extensive experience installing, upgrading, troubleshooting, and integrating CISCO, VMWare, and MS systems
  • Strong experience in implementing and troubleshooting network management and auditing tools such as SolarWinds and Splunk.
  • Experience troubleshooting, integrating, and/or supporting multiple computing systems, including Linux platforms, Windows platforms, VMWare, Virtual Machines, etc.
  • Experience in implementing and troubleshooting Aruba ClearPass products.
  • Experience in implementing and troubleshooting ISC CertAgent products.

Preferred Experience, Education, and Certifications:

  • Virtualization experience, specifically with VMware vSphere and VMware Horizon View, a strong plus
  • LINUX experience and certifications are a plus
  • Microsoft Certified Professional a plus
  • CCNA Certification
  • ITIL and PMP Certifications
