JOB DESCRIPTION:

SAIC is currently looking to hire a C++ Software Engineer to join our team in California, MD.

*This role is temporarily remote due to Covid-19 restrictions*

The majority of the work performed on this task order will be used for Research and Development, Test and Evaluation and Training in support of Simulation Division software projects that support the United States Navy (USN), the United States Air Force (USAF), the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and foreign partners.  This software will be used for Research and Development, Test and Evaluation and Training.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provides Battlespace Modeling and Simulation support for the Simulation Division,  to include:  Avionics Modeling, Battlespace Modeling, Simulation Systems Software Development, and Specialized Technical Support. 
• Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software (familiarity with C++ and Qt)  
• Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting.
• Determines user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls

• Develop Parallel processes, threading, process communication

• Develop Web-based applications using development technology

• Collaborate with team members to design future enhancements

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors degree and 2+ years of related experience required with scripting, database programming and languages such as Modern C++, and Python; 4 years of experience can be used in lieu of a degree.

Clearance: Must have an Interim Secret Clearance to start with the ability to obtain a full Secret Clearance

Required Skills:

• Demonstrate a knowledge of standard programming algorithms, design patterns, and object oriented software design. 

• Evaluate and review C++ language code 

• Familiarity with Qt software tool

Desired Skills:

• Previous experience supporting Electronic Warfare

• Familiarity with time-series analysis a plus
