JOB DESCRIPTION:
SAIC is seeking an experienced Cloud Service Management Systems Engineer (SETA) for a position located in Chantilly, VA. The successful candidate will support the adoption of evolving cloud environments (ex: AWS, Azure, etc.), as well as support developers and application owners with their adoption and implementation of cloud technologies. A background in project management is required as the successful candidate analyzes program cost, schedule, and performance attributes to formulate strategic courses of actions for stakeholder consideration. Strong relationship building skills are needed as the successful candidate will represent the customer’s strategic goals in working groups, when assessing evolving program requests, and shepherding technology deployments through configuration change management processes.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
The successful applicant will leverage their knowledge of cloud technologies to establish themselves as a strategic Subject Matter Expert (SME) who provides:
Coordination with stakeholders to determine their processing and storage needs;
Capture and communication of major configuration changes (ex: new capabilities, capacity increases, etc.) within Request for Change (RFC) documents for change management tracking;
Evaluations of customer requests to identify impacts to the cloud program office;
Technical assessments of customer plans to evaluate their Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews (PDR/CDR) products to ensure design implementations align with the customer’s operational needs and goals;
Database capacity utilization oversight and assesses the system’s ability meet evolving customer needs (i.e., capacity verse demand management);
Development and coordination of artifacts to serve as the technical requirements for Statements of Work (SOWs) in support of vendor implemented database updates;
Readiness oversight of vendor Task Order (T.O.) implementations that fulfill technical requirements and SOWs;
Technical evaluation of vendor T.O. deliveries (i.e., cost, schedule, and performance analysis), and offers recommendations for improvement, recovery, or remedy
Qualifications
Clearance required to start: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.
