Job Description


SAIC is seeking a Data Scientist Principal to support the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency.

Duties Include:

  • Develop Assurance knowledge bases and content that support development of training courses and campaigns promoting awareness across the enterprise.
  • Assist in assessing, documenting, and tracking new program requirements and follow-on technical exchange meetings (TEMs).
  • Plan and coordinate program activities such as Program Reviews and Control Gate Reviews including scheduling of meetings and preparation of briefings/presentations
  • Perform foundational planning, policy, and business functions to enable GA strategies to be successfully implemented.
  • Serve as SMEs for orchestration and integration of capabilities supporting GA investments, for both GA managed and GA-endorsed capabilities.


TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.


  • 10 years’ experience and Bachelor of Science degree or higher in statistics, mathematics, image science, remote sensing, earth science, physical science or related technical or scientific field
  • Engage with existing and emerging data domain communities to assure GEOINT end-to-end, supply-chain integrity and trust. Examples of emerging data sources include tailored social media and open source feeds, Internet of Things / IoT, Space/SOSI, CSOC and CERT alerts, darkweb threat reports, AI/ML training-data, etc.
  • Establish metadata tag standards supporting Assurance goals.
  • Assist in assessing, documenting, and tracking new program requirements and follow-on technical exchange meetings (TEMs).
  • Select techniques and methods to conduct data mining and retrieval, and apply statistical and mathematical analyses to identify trends, solve analytical problems, optimize performance, and gather intelligence to accomplish moderately complex assignments.
  • Visualize information using an intermediate knowledge of a moderate range of tools develop scripts and algorithms for current and future applications, working with Big Data Visualization Specialist(s).
