Currently seeking a System Administrator to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama.
This position is in support of the configuration management of enterprise desktop and server systems for a government customer. This position will support desktop and server system deployments in physical and virtual environments, their configurations and cyber security compliance. A broad technical skillset is required for this position.
- Performs system administration of HBSS servers in a virtual environment
- Performs ePO server administrative tasks
- Performs other hardware and software tasks as assigned
- Assists in the administration and operation of Microsoft SCCM
- Leverages SCCM or other tools for the tracking and reporting of hardware and software assets
- Develops and deploys server & desktop GPOs while insuring limited service disruptions
- Assists in the management of an Active Directory forest and domain
- Deploys software patches and updates to server and desktop systems in order to mitigate security vulnerabilities using WSUS
- Creates, maintains and deploys OS images in compliance with Army STIG policies
- Performs scans utilizing ACAS and insures system compliance with IAVM policy
- Resolves Service Desk escalation issues
- Communicates across functional groups to assist in the resolution of complex desktop issues
- Participates in the creation of organization policies, standards and SOPs
- Participates in the approval process for IT purchases based on their fit within the organization and their compliance with DoD and Army standards
- Test patches/updates/systems prior to network release
