SAIC is looking to fill a position for Dev Ops Engineer to work collaboratively with software developers to deploy and operate our systems. Help automate and streamline operations and processes. Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in dev, test and production environments. Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration, experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef, Ansible or an equivalent. Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services. A working understanding of code and script (PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby). Knowledge and understanding of best practices and IT operations.
You will work within a multi-disciplinary team on a largescale remote sensing software development effort utilizing agile at scale. The ideal candidate is well-rounded with software development and automation experience. The team embraces pair programming and swarming. Primary duties will include automating the testing and deployment of a complex remote sensing system and troubleshooting issues that arise in the process.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management of Information Systems, or relevant discipline and 5 years or more experience OR 9 years or more experience in lieu of degree.
- At least 3 years of DevOps experience
- At least 3 years of development experience with Python
- Strong collaboration and teaming skills
- Interest in working on an Agile team
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance (not required to start)
Desired Skills
- Extensive Linux Knowledge
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with Kafka
- Experience troubleshooting Java Applications
- Experience with Git, Gradle, and Ansible
- Experience with CI/CD via Gitlab CI
- Experience with automated testing of both Java code (e.g. JUnit) and user interfaces
- Existing DOE L or Q or DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance
