SAIC is seeking a solutions oriented experienced technologist to support development of a technical road map for a premiere financial organization. 


The optimal candidate will have significant experience leveraging technology to achieve business objectives. The selected person is expected to have lead technical delivery and strategic development skills with a track record applying technical innovation. Working with an existing strategic framework, the selected candidate is expected to extend the effort and support development of an IT operating model, and transformation brief concluding with an overarching technical roadmap.


Working with our customer’s senior IT leadership, the selected candidate will support and lead working sessions to validate the current state and develop a tactical set of actions to move to the desired future state. In addition to developing a pathway to a future state, it is critical to take into consideration the need for service stability and resiliency applying an overarching risk management methodology.  Last but not least is the integration of organizational change management practices to support successful achievement of the overall strategy and technical objectives.


The selected candidate is expected to work with customer leadership and management collaboratively. This person will also coordinate internal with SAIC’s technical practices and Managed Services organization to support development of the expected deliverables. 

 
Duration: 3-6 months, potential longer term

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree or relevant experience, Masters in Technology and/or Business preferred

 

Type of Degree or Major Area of Study:

Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field

Master of Business Administration preferred

ITIL / DevOps / Agile certification desired

 

Years of Required Experience:

15+ years managing infrastructure, developing strategy and actions plans, and leading a strategic technical initiative is required.

 

Type of Experience Required:

  • 10+ years of strategic and tactical experience in a similar role supporting operational service delivery
  • 10+ years of project management or business management related experience; managed service delivery and financial industry experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience facilitating the development and implementation of business initiatives and technical projects, based on management objectives
 
Expected capabilities:
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and align priorities across varied technical experts to ensure a singular aligned focus on team and organizational goals.
  • Ability to translate organizational vision and long-term thinking, imagination, and idea generation into execution and support development of an articulated plan.
  • Ability to listen, collaborate and advance organizational objectives with customer leadership and  internal SME support with end customers and peer technical organizations with leadership and functional teams
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation communication and negotiating skills that create win-win situations.
  • Exceptional ability to lead change using positive and collaborative methods
  • Ability to manage stakeholder and customer expectations and resolve conflicts
  • Ability to lead requirements gathering workshops
  • Understanding requirements gathering practices and the ability to apply them in practice
  • Understand and integrate business strategies and trends in technology to deliver value
  • Experience and comfort in senior level stakeholder communication, problem solving and negotiation
  • Proficient in the use of project management methods, tools, and techniques.
  • Ability to adapt to and manage organization change.
  • Ability to identify gaps and areas that need improvement
