SAIC has a contingent opportunity for a MID/Senior level Mechanical Technician to support the US Army CCDC, C5ISR Center, Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD). This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located in Ft. Belvoir, VA.

The Mechanical Technician will be expected to take on a variety of assigned tasks and be able to work alongside various project leads across all efforts of the NVESD customer as it relates to the integration of systems for dismounted, ground vehicular and UAS platforms applications. The candidate will be required to assemble platform components, perform onsite small fixture fabrication, and perform cable installation for networking, power, and RF applications. The mechanical technician will be required to operate machinery such as saws, drills, grinders, and mechanical lifting equipment. will interface with the external parts vendors and external fabrication shops in support of platform integration.





Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
  • AA Degree in related discipline and three (3) years related experience; Or, High School and five (5) years related experience with relevent certification.
  • Must properly apply and use hand tools in accordance with ISO and FAA/DoD aviation standards as outlined by the NVESD customer
  • Experience with small UAS integration is highly desired. 
  • Must understand 3D modeling applications such as SolidWorks or Pro-E and will assist in the design and documentation of the smaller integrated part assemblies. 
  • Must be able to operate any in-house additive 3D manufacturing machines.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance
