Job Description


SAIC is seeking a mid-level Systems Engineer / Acquisitions Specialist to support a government program office in Springfield, VA. Job responsibilities include conducting applied systems engineering analysis; requirements development and coordination; providing tailored systems engineering support to major systems that are under acquisition, entering operations, and maintenance phases, and fully fielded systems; coordinating technical discussions; participating in system working groups, technical exchange meetings, and technical status meetings/reviews, concept of operations development, documenting proceedings, tracking action items, and supporting customer resourcing decisions.

The successful candidate will:

Work with a team of systems engineers and analysts in support of a senior executive level Directorate
Provide systems engineering and project management support over the full life cycle for multiple acquisitions
Collaborate with Directorate personnel in developing Systems Engineering products and processes, performing technical analyses, and monitoring technical performance during system development and test
Provide on-site technical continuity for the government team, by supporting on-going status meetings, coordinating concerns, issues, and actions with the program team
Ensure adherence to Government acquisition policies, master plans and schedules
Provide tailored systems engineering services with intermediate level of understanding of DoD and IC acquisition processes;
Support technical exchange meetings supporting concept of operations development, logistics, and training requirements development;
Participate in periodic reviews of project status to include system reviews, design reviews, quarterly and monthly performance reviews, providing formal minutes of the meetings and tracking action items assigned;
Analyze performance reports for both developmental and deployed systems and provide timely recommendations to resolve technical problems;
Develop, update and maintain functional baseline configuration of system capability needs and requirements; and
Collaborate with project officers and partner organizations to develop and implement requirements within allocated resources.
Technical knowledge of Systems Engineering processes; Systems Engineering degree or certification preferred


Candidate Shall have:

An active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for access to sensitive compartmented information (SCI)

Ability to successfully complete a polygraph

Bachelors in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical or related Engineering fields
with five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.

3 - 7 years’ experience supporting DoD or IC major acquisition programs.
