Job Description


SAIC is hiring an experienced Senior SW Systems Analyst to support our LITES II team at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA.  This position will provide IT systems support for NASA Langley’s Center Operations Directorate.


Job Description:

  • Code, test and troubleshoot application software
  • Manage user requirements and design, develop and test software to meet the requirements
  • Prepare work estimates for assigned development requirements 
  • Provide regular reporting to Project/Task Managers
  • Perform the overall COTS/application management
  • Assist in evaluating design of new and existing systems to judge their functionality, effectiveness, reliability, performance, usage, maintainability and cost of ownership
  • Collaborate and coordinate with systems administration team to ensure comprehensive system testing, availability, and long term lifecycle considerations
  • Excellent at verbal and written communication skills
  • Self driven will minimal supervision while demonstrating initiative and vision
  • Availability to work afterhours if necessary during maintenance windows
  • Ability to work independently and multitask effectively
  • Ability and willingness to mentor junior team members



  • Bachelor's and two (2) years or more of experience; Master's and zero (0) years related experience.
  • 4 years of additional experience accepted in lieu of degree.


Required Skills:

  • Experience with OpenText and OpenText integration
  • SQL (Preferably with Oracle 12, SQL Server 2016), HTML, Javascript
  • Linux system administration
  • BASH and Perl scripting, particularly for data manipulation tasks



  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust.
