SAIC has an immediate need for a Model Based Systems Engineer  (MBSE) to support a Cybersecurity task to provide support for the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center support to the Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD) in the area of Model-Based System Engineering applied to Cybersecurity architecture. This will sit in Cleveland, OH.

 

Job Description:

  • The cybersecurity systems engineer will be part of the team that supports ARMD research efforts and applications.
  • Generally, these efforts include making sure that systems requirements fulfill NASA, federal, and external partner expectations; facilitating communication about requirements and capabilities to all stakeholders; assisting projects with cybersecurity integration and mitigation; verifying project level cybersecurity requirements; and identifying and collaborating on aeronautic cybersecurity research.
  • Specifically, the candidate will provide technical support in a variety of areas that support cybersecurity development.
  • The skill sets needed will include a combination of Systems Engineering with an emphasis in either System Architecture and/or Cybersecurity.  

Qualifications

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience
  • Four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree 
Required Skills:
  • Modeling and designing multilevel security cross-domain applications
  • Defining and building use cases
  • Interpreting operational requirements into protection needs
  • Knowledge of designing architectures and frameworks using TOGAF or DODAF
  • Knowledge of systems security and safety engineering principles and practice in NIST 800-160 
 
Clearance:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust.

 

Travel:

  • There will be up to 10% travel.
 
Desired Skills:
  •  Experience or working knowledge of applying security and privacy principles
  • Configuring and utilizing software-based computer protection tools
  • Experience or working knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework (NIST 800-53)
  • Experience or working knowledge of Systems-Theoretic Accident Model and Processes (STAMP)
  • Familiarity with telecommunications
  • Familiarity with aeronautics
