Job Description

Description

SAIC is seeking a Chief Engineer to support the US Space Force (USSF) Space Flag, Weapons School, Advanced Training Modeling and Simulation Environment effort. SPACE FLAG events are USSF exercises designed to advance the nation's ability to plan and conduct space operations in a contested, degraded and operationally-limited environment.  To facilitate this, the USSF employs a synthetic environment to support realistic, threat-based scenarios in tactical-level exercises emphasizing the protection and defense of space assets.  Weapons School and Advanced Training events leverage the same construct.

In support of the Program Manager and government customer, the Chief Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining the overall technical baseline and leading the multi-discipline team of software, database, and modeling & simulation engineers developing, integrating and sustaining the exercise environment used to conduct exercise and training events.

Performs, manages and leads systems engineering activities including concept of operations and operational requirements analysis; system architecting, analysis and design; interface and data architecture design; validation and verification; systems integration; and technical and operational performance assessment. Develop lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis and physical configuration analysis (PCA). Determine and implement solutions for power & cooling, data storage, infrastructure, backup, monitoring, operating systems, directory services, identity management, access management, and automation.
