SAIC is seeking qualified candidates to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program.

AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners requiring these capabilities to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations. As the lead agent for M&S within the USAF, AFAMS gathers requirements, seeks out potential solutions, and integrates legacy and emerging M&S solutions across the USAF and the DoD. The USAF has an M&S initiative that focuses on providing simulation and synthetic training as the critical capability to augment live training, act as an enabler for critical decision-making, and enhance human performance. In the current resource constrained environment, demand for M&S rises with the continuously evolving need for operational readiness and mission preparedness across the USAF, DoD, and with coalition partners. AFAMS focuses on providing innovative M&S services as the key to meeting this demand.


Job Description:
  • Experience in Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) JAGIC Warfighting Exercises (WFXs)

  • Have detailed knowledge of Fire current operations integration cell (COIC) operations, Support Coordinator (FSCOORD)/JAGIC Chief roles and functions

  • Provide Joint Fires operational support including but not limited to: developing realistic and relevant Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) for Joint Fires integration in support of tactical and operational level training events, coordinate with WPC planners to incorporate simulators into relevant exercises and training events, assist other planners in meeting area of responsibility (AOR) mission requirements during events, operate Instructor Operating Station (IOS) and coordinate with engineers and technicians for maintenance, optimization, and upgrades to JTAGSS simulator and Army artillery/airspace systems. While conducting JAGIC operations, he/she will communicate directly with a live/virtual COIC participants, including Chief of Operations (CHOPS), G-2 OPS, unit LNOs, Army Fires, Army air and missile defense (AMD), Army aviation and airspace elements, USAF ASOC and other relevant exercise participants

  • Be expected to dynamically integrate Joint Fires during exercise execution using the JTAGSS and Army artillery/airspace suite of hardware and software

  • Support includes event preparation, mission briefing and debriefing with exercise participants, identification of lessons learned and compiling After Action Reports (AARs)


Qualifications

Required Experience and Education:

  • Qualified FSCOORD (or Deputy FSCOORD) with recent operational COIC experience within five years

  • Must have experience in Joint Fires integration at echelon above Brigade preferably Joint Air Ground Integration Center (JAGIC) operations. Waiver of individual experience/qualification requirements will be addressed by WPC on a case-by-case basis

  • Desired Familiarity with: Developing and debriefing Joint training scenarios for Air Force and Army audiences; Battlefield Coordination Detachment (BCD) operations, JTAC, ASOC distributed training requirements and TTPs;  Joint policy and doctrine as well as experience with the planning and execution of joint, combined, allied, and other partner nation’s operations and exercises;  ATP 3-09.13 The Battlefield Coordination Detachment, ATP 3-91.1 Joint Air Ground Integration Center, Joint Publication 3-09.3 Close Air Support, Army Doctrine Publication (ADP) 3-0, Unified land Operations, ADP 7-0 Training Units and Developing Leaders, Army Techniques Publication (ATP) 3-09.34 Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures for Kill Box Planning and Employment.FM 3-52 Airspace Control, FM 3-94 Theater Army Corps and Division operations, “Reshaping the JAGIC: lessons Learned from 4th ID Warfighter 16-03”, Fires, July –August 2016
