SAIC is seeking qualified candidates to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program.

AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners requiring these capabilities to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations. As the lead agent for M&S within the USAF, AFAMS gathers requirements, seeks out potential solutions, and integrates legacy and emerging M&S solutions across the USAF and the DoD. The USAF has an M&S initiative that focuses on providing simulation and synthetic training as the critical capability to augment live training, act as an enabler for critical decision-making, and enhance human performance. In the current resource constrained environment, demand for M&S rises with the continuously evolving need for operational readiness and mission preparedness across the USAF, DoD, and with coalition partners. AFAMS focuses on providing innovative M&S services as the key to meeting this demand.

Job Description:
  • Provide intelligence support to live, virtual and constructive (LVC) integration into synthetic and live exercise battle spaces

  • SME in intelligence activities relative to Tier I-IV exercises involving joint and coalition participants

  • Interact with ISR, targeting, battle damage assessment (BDA), influence operations (IO), Air Operations Center (AOC), and Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) areas within the tactical and operational environments

  • Support the review and/or develop collection deck(s), Air Tasking Orders (ATO), Special Instructions (SPINS), Air Coordination Orders (ACO), orders of battle (OB), Comprehensive Intelligence Preparation of the Environment (CPOE), Road to War (RtW), and other documents relevant to major joint air, ground, and maritime operations

  • Develop potential adversary (red/gray) scenario scripting, OB, IADS construction, electronic OB (EOB), land OB (LOB), and maritime OB (MOB) in accordance with customer/training audience requirements and defined training objectives

  • Work with host unit intelligence section, external intelligence organizations, and other contractor SMEs to plan, develop, and execute USAFE/AFAFRICA LVC exercises plus other smaller exercises as determined by the WPC

  • Liaise with and leverage the Joint Multinational Simulation Center (JMSC) to integrate joint, combined, and coalition exercises through unique capabilities designed to train US, NATO, and Partners for Peace (PfP) Nations to construct and execute training scenarios for distributed exercises. Develop and deliver mission briefings, execute in-depth mission debriefings to training audiences, and compile after action reports (AAR) as required

  • Plan and assist scenario development, provide guidance and expertise in ISR operations, coordinate LVC interactions, support exercise academic development and instruction, attend and support planning, exercise development, and other related events world-wide to support US government requirements, and provide inputs to M&S developers and technical experts

  • Assist the active duty Senior Intelligence Officer (SIO) in managing and overseeing the WPC sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF)

  • Maintain information assurance (IA) proficiency and information system security officer (ISSO) qualifications

  • Maintain a comprehensive level of knowledge, skills, and abilities for the profession

  • Complete tasks by planning, organizing, and prioritizing work within expected timeframes

  • Remain adaptable, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism


Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree +5 years’ of USAF operational intelligence experience. Graduate of the USAF Operations Intelligence Apprentice Course or Intelligence Officer Course or equivalent

  • Previously mission qualified in a formalized intelligence mission set through standardized and sanctioned mission qualification training (MQT) program. USAF instructor experience / Instructor Rated Operator (IRO)

  • Experience with some or all of the following; intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), community liaison, geospatial/imagery intelligence (GEOINT/IMINT), signals intelligence (SIGINT), open source intelligence (OSINT), all-source fusion analysis, counterintelligence analysis, asymmetric threat analysis, and risk analysis

  • At least one contingency deployment in an intelligence operations duty

  • Operational knowledge of Google Earth, Falcon View, NGA ArcGIS, other geospatial software and resources, MS Office products (Outlook, Power Point, Excel, Word, Publisher, etc.), and Adobe Acrobat

  • Desired Familiarity with:  ISR Operations Course (IROC), Intelligence Master Skills Course (ISR-300), Senior Enlisted Intelligence Master Skills Course, or equivalents; the USAFE/AFAFRICA area of responsibility (AOR)

  • Familiarity with tactical exercises such as Red Flag/Green Flag/ Maple Flag/Virtual Flag, etc.
