Job Description


SAIC has an immediate opening for applicants experienced with working as a Hotline Coordinator in Newport, RI.




SAIC has a unique opportunity with the US Navy to help manage the Periscope Hot Line, located in the Periscope Repair Facility at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport RI. This position will require monitoring the Fleet Hot Line for incoming calls and expeditiously processing information to help ensure responses are received within twenty-four hours. This position also monitors the classified hotline systems. The individual will be aware of who must be contacted for required action and follow up on all actions until complete. The incumbent will also be required to assist in drafting and routing outgoing messages as well.

  • Monitor the NUWC ISEA Hot Line for incoming calls for assistance with Antenna and Periscope issues from the fleet.
  • Review incoming message over the NMCI SIPR network for fleet CASREPS and action items.
  • Assign actions and route messages and hotline phone calls to the appropriate subject matter expert for action.
  • Track all action items until complete.
  • Type and route outgoing messages as required by the customer.
  • Prepare and submit all required reports that are required by the customer.
  • Maintain and update the Hotline Standard Operating procedure guide as required.



  • HS/GED required.
  • Previous active duty submarine experience. 
  • Additional formal education or training that is directly relevant to this particular type of work is a plus.
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures, meet deadlines, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate skills proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, to all levels of the customer organization.
  • Four years’ experience with submarine Imaging and EW systems is a plus.
  • Being able to read and decipher Naval Messages is a plus.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain DOD Secret Clearance.
