Description

SAIC is searching for a Chief Engineer to work on a highly dynamic and exciting Customer program. The Chief Engineer will lead a group of Engineers from various disciplines, including Integration, Infrastructure, Networking, Security, System Administration and Software. In addition, they will ensure that these Engineering teams support the needs of over 100+ Customer Systems as well as the requirements of a 24/7 Watch Center dedicated to the monitoring of those systems. 

Daily Weekly Duties would include:
  • Leading a Technical Review Board
  • Coordinating and Attending Technical Exchange Meetings
  • Ensuring the Program is using sound Engineering Practices in support of customer requests
  • Leading the program COOP initiative
  • Working with Engineering teams to develop and propose technical solutions  
  • Assisting with the procurement and testing of Equipment and Software in support of Customer and/or Program needs
  • Assisting with the procurement of Program infrastructure, such as Communications Circuits
  • Supporting the Program Management Team as needed

Qualifications

  • Must currently hold a TS/SCI & Poly
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 20+ Years in an Engineering Field
  • 5+ Years in a Management role
  • Strong Understanding of and experience with two or more of the below technical fields:
    • Telecom Networking
    • COOP Implementation
    • System Administration
    • Software Development/Application
    • System Integration 
  • Strong Understanding or Hands on Experience with two of more of the following technologies:
    • Cisco Networking Equipment
    • COOP Redundancy and System Backup
    • VMWare
    • Windows (Active Directory, GPOs, etc.)
    • Linux (RedHat, CentOS, etc.)
    • Java/Python/HTML
  • Ability to listen to, understand and support dynamic Customer requirements
  • Strong Interpersonal skills 
  • Support a typical 9-5 weekly schedule with after hours on call support as needed
