POSITION SUMMARY: 


SAIC has a career opening for a SharePoint Administrator in Cary, North Carolina in support of the United States Army National Guard. 


Note: This role offers temporary work from home / remote / virtual work at home due to COVID-19.  Eventually the work will go back on site in Cary, North Carolina 100% 


The SharePoint Administrator is responsible for managing and administering web-based collaboration repositories and web applications.  

 


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


The successful candidate will have significant web application virtualization experience.   Day-to-day responsibilities include:

 

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain content management tool, monitors SharePoint software for any glitches or problems.

  • Maintain and manage content databases, repositories, software tools and web portals. Operate, monitor and maintain content management tools.

  • Manage and revise the layout of the site(s), customizing SharePoint site(s) for customer needs.

  • Analyze daily user activity on SharePoint, and maintain records of SharePoint updates, maintenance, and activity.

  • Report on updates to and information about SharePoint use.

  • Provide technical support for SharePoint users, and address questions or concerns regarding the function of the software.

  • Keeps apprised of Microsoft updates to SharePoint software.

  • Apply updates to SharePoint as necessary.

  • Maintain SharePoint firewalls and security.

  • Hold training and informational sessions to train users how to use collaboration site, as needed.

  • Maintain 3rd party applications in compliance with supporting vendor requirements

  • Analyze and provide content usage statistics

  • Decommission SharePoint sites upon request

  • Must be a self-starter; capable of working independently, under limited direction, and in team environments

  • Ability to think creatively to devise customizations and uses for SharePoint

  • Familiar with website layouts and html

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is required and 5+ years related experience; OR High School diploma and 9 years + related experience

  • 5+ years as a SharePoint Administrator or web application developer, preferably with Cloud hosting experience (Azure/AWS). 

  • Previous experience working with SharePoint is required.

  • Experience maintaining Microsoft IIS and DNS services

  • Level II DoD 8570 certification: CompTIA Security+ CE

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance

  • Must be able to obtain ITIL Foundation certification within 60 days of start date

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Capable of resolving complex issues

  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills 

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Web application development experience
