DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The C2SA Technical Writer will be responsible for updating and maintaining all associated engineering, testing, training, cybersecurity, and other programmatic documents. The C2SA Technical Writer will be responsible for drafting user-friendly content that meets the needs of the intended audience, as well as maintaining records of those documents in the Configuration Management database, CMPro.
Write and edit technical and complex ideas and procedures for novice readers.
Work with instructional systems designers, engineers, and subject matter experts, observing functional tasks to determine process steps.
Familiar with Command and Control Situational Awareness (C2SA) systems and components.
Familiar with computer systems and software technical terms.
Possess working knowledge of current MIL-STD regulations for document formatting and grammatical conventions.
Recognize and adjust writing style based on content and product type, adhering to established technical writing standards.
Complete assignments in required project writing style, terminology, clarity, and order.
Differentiate between, and write, generic and example-specific process steps.
Required Skills and Education:
citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree - 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree
Minimum of five years of experience in technical writing, grammar, and communication skills
Expert knowledge of Word and working knowledge of Excel.
Working knowledge of SharePoint and version control using CMPro.
Ability to organize materials, write an outline, and then use it to develop comprehensive, well-written documents.
Possess command of the English language, especially an expert understanding of voice, address, and syntax.
Ability to provide and receive constructive criticism in a professional manner.
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
Knowledge of US Navy/Marine Corps culture, equipment, techniques, and procedures a plus.
